Docswift is committed to making our online file conversion tools accessible to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our website.
What We Do
- Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML elements (headings, buttons, navigation, forms) to ensure content is structured correctly for assistive technologies.
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements — including the upload zone, buttons, forms, and navigation — are accessible via keyboard.
- Focus Indicators: Visible focus outlines are provided for all interactive elements to help keyboard users navigate the site.
- ARIA Labels: We use ARIA attributes where necessary to provide additional context for screen readers.
- Color Contrast: We strive to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio requirements for text and interactive elements.
- Responsive Design: The website adapts to different screen sizes and works with browser zoom up to 200%.
- Reduced Motion: We respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query and disable animations for users who prefer reduced motion. - Alternative Text: Images include descriptive alternative text for screen readers.
File Upload Accessibility
Our file upload zone is designed to be accessible:
- The upload area can be activated using keyboard (Enter or Space)
- File selection dialogs are triggered through standard browser mechanisms
- Upload progress and conversion status are announced to screen readers
- Error messages are clearly associated with the relevant controls
Known Limitations
While we strive for comprehensive accessibility, some limitations may exist:
- Drag-and-drop functionality requires a mouse, but all drag-and-drop areas also have a keyboard-accessible file browse button.
- Some complex visual elements may not have perfect screen reader descriptions.
